Hey there, storytelling enthusiasts!
Is your clan spread across various neighborhoods, cities, or even countries, limiting the quality family time that you all used to enjoy? Or do you have this immense desire to share all those precious, laugh-out-loud, and moving moments with everyone in your squad? Today, I am going to make your day with a fun, creative, and meaningful solution – a Family Newsletter using Togetherletters!
Now, I know, you might be thinking absently, “How on earth can I create a newsletter?” Don’t fret! This post is all about teaching you just that. By the end of this, you’ll become your family’s own personal editor-in-chief!
Step 1: Pick your Platform
First things first, you need to decide how you want to send your newsletter. Will it be a printed piece mailed to each family’s home? An email newsletter? Maybe you want to get fancy and create a family blog! Whatever you choose, there’s a platform out there just waiting for you to conquer it. MailChimp, Canva, Google Docs, and WordPress are all wonderful options, each with their user-friendly and unique features.
Selfishly, we think the easiest option is setting up a family TogetherLetter, but do what works best for you.
Step 2: Assign a Theme
Assigning a theme to your family newsletter will make it cohesive and engrossing. You can always go with the season, upcoming holidays, or something special your family is celebrating or keenly engaged in.
Step 3: Content! Content! Content!
Now comes the fun part: deciding what you’re going to put in your family newsletter. Showcasing birthdays, anniversaries, and graduations is a great idea. Don’t forget to include fun sections like “Spotlight Member” and “Family Interview.” Crowd-source most of your content from family members, and trust me, they’ll be eager to share.
Step 4: Collect and Organize Your Material
Gather photos, stories, and news from your kinfolk. Communication is key here. Be sure to inform everyone about the deadlines so they can get their contributions to you in time.
Hint: if you use TogetherLetters, this is done for you…. just saying 🙂
Step 5: Design away!
Now it’s off to the design station. Don’t worry – you don’t have to be a seasoned graphic designer to make something beautiful. Drag and drop template options from Canva or MailChimp are fairly easy to use.
Step 6: Proofread & Share
Finally, make sure to have a final proofread of your newsletter. You want to ensure everything looks good, makes sense, and is free from any embarrassing typos. Once you’re done, share and enjoy the wave of joy and unity that follows!
See? Creating a family newsletter doesn’t have to be an arduous task. With the right tools and a little bit of organization, we can all connect the dots that link our family, no matter how scattered we are.
Until Next time!
